Do You Know How to Keep Your Grill Clean?

Mmm mmm! Have you been enjoying summer backyard grilling? Don't you just love cooking outdoors and keeping the mess outside of the house? Yes, grilling can limit the amount of clean up in the kitchen, but it is important to keep up with cleaning the grill too!

Regular cleaning will not only keep your food tasting great, but will help your grill last longer. Cleaned To Perfection offers the following tips for easy grill care:
  • Clean the grates after each use to prevent food from sticking on the grill. Any stiff bristled brush will work. While the grates are still warm, brush off any remaining food particles then brush some oil onto them.
  • Charcoal grills need the ashes brushed out after each use in addition to the grates being cleaned. Every now and then give it a good soapy scrub too.
  • Clean the grates of a gas grill after each use and brush off the sides and lid. On a regular basis, lift out the cooking grate and clean off the barrier above the burners. Yearly, do a thorough cleaning. Be sure to disconnect the gas first. Remove the grill parts layer by layer and inspect for for wear and tear. Either clean or replace as needed.  With all the parts out of the grill, use soapy water to clean it completely. After the parts are replaced, let the grill heat completely before use to ensure all of the soap residue is burned off.
  • If the grill has rust or the color is coming off, paint it with grill safe paint.
Grills can be cleaned easily and quickly when done on a regular basis so fire it up and and enjoy that delicious barbecue!
